Itineraries
Day 1
Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Fes
Departure from your accommodation to Fez, passing through Rabat and Meknes. We will visit key sites in these cities as well as Volubilis. We will then continue on to Fez, where we will arrive at the end of the day and spend the night in a riad.
Day 2
Fes – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
Today we’ll head to Merzouga, stopping in Azrou, a Berber village nestled in the heart of the famous cedar forest. We’ll have lunch in Midelt at a traditional Moroccan restaurant, then cross the Tizi N Talgham pass and travel along the beautiful Ziz Gorge, stopping to enjoy panoramic views along the way.
We’ll pass through Berber villages on our way to Erfoud, then Rissani, and finally arrive in Merzouga. Here we’ll stay at a local hotel near the desert dunes.
Day 3
Visit the nomads - the M fis Mines - The village of Khamlia
Today we’ll explore the desert region by visiting the Gnawa people in the village of Khamlia. You’ll also have the chance to meet nomadic families who still live in Berber tents.
Later, we’ll return to the village of Merzouga, where we’ll take a camel ride to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, we’ll spend the night amidst the sand dunes. You’ll enjoy the sunset, and tonight’s dinner will be served at the desert camp with Berber music around the campfire.
Day 4
Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate.
Get up early in the morning if you want to see the sunrise; have breakfast and take a shower at the camp, then head to Rissani to visit the local market where the nomads sell their goods. From there, we’ll head to the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco.
After lunch in the heart of the gorges, we’ll head toward the Dades Valley, passing through Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through the Dades Valley is known as the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, offering plenty of opportunities to take some of the best photos of the trip.
We’ll stop in Kalaat Mgouna, “the pink city,” and spend the night at a hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 5
Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, our journey continues to Marrakech, passing through the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the largest kasbah in Morocco, where many films have been shot.
We will cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) in the High Atlas Mountains. At the end of the day, we will arrive at your accommodation in Marrakech.
