Day 1
14 Days Casablanca to Marrakech & Desert Trip
Your Moroccan adventure begins in cosmopolitan Casablanca. Upon your arrival, we’ll visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque in the world, situated right on the ocean.
We’ll enjoy a relaxing stroll along the La Corniche promenade, where you can feel the Atlantic breeze as you get a feel for the rhythm of Moroccan life. The welcome dinner will be at a local restaurant serving regional specialties.
Day 2
Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
Today we’ll head north, making our first stop in Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital. We’ll visit the impressive Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the historic Kasbah of the Oudaias. We’ll continue our journey toward the Rif Mountains, arriving at sunset in Chefchaouen, the fascinating “Blue City,” which will welcome us with its streets painted in shades of indigo.
Day 3
Full Day in Chefchaouen
We’ll spend the entire day exploring this picturesque village. We’ll start at the charming Uta el-Hammam Square, the heart of the medina, where you can enjoy a mint tea while admiring the Andalusian architecture. We’ll stroll to the Ras El Maa fountain to observe local life, and you’ll have free time to wander through the blue alleyways, discover small artisan workshops, and capture the best photos of this unique place.
Day 4
Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez
Our journey to Fez will first take us to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, where the magnificent, well-preserved mosaics will transport us back to the region’s imperial past. In Meknes, another of the imperial cities, we’ll admire the monumental Bab Mansour Gate and the lively El Hedim Square. We’ll arrive in Fez at sunset and settle into a traditional riad in the heart of the medina.
Day 5
A Complete Tour of Fez
Today we’ll discover Morocco’s oldest and most fascinating city. We’ll start with the impressive Bou Inania and Attarine madrasas, gems of Islamic architecture. The tour will then take us to the famous tanners’ quarter, where we’ll observe the ancient process of dyeing leather. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the country’s most authentic souks before enjoying dinner accompanied by traditional Andalusian music.
Day 6
Fez – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt
We leave Fez behind and head into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland” for its Alpine-style architecture. We’ll continue on to the Azrou Cedar Forest, where we’ll see the friendly Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. We’ll end the day in Midelt, the gateway to the desert.
Day 7
Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Today our Saharan adventure begins. We’ll travel through the spectacular Ziz Valley, with its vast palm groves contrasting with the arid mountains. Upon arriving in Merzouga, we’ll swap our vehicle for camels to venture into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we’ll spend the night in a Berber camp under a spectacular starry sky.
Day 8
Full Day in Merzouga
We’ll spend the day enjoying unique experiences in the desert. We’ll start with a spectacular sunrise over the dunes, followed by a Berber breakfast. We’ll visit nomadic families to learn about their traditional way of life and participate in a Saharan cooking workshop. In the afternoon, we’ll take an exciting 4×4 tour through the desert, discovering ephemeral lakes and kohl mines. The evening will end with Gnawa music around the campfire.
Day 9
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
After bidding farewell to the desert, we’ll head to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where the rock walls rise up to 300 meters high. We’ll stop in Tinghir to explore its palm grove before continuing on to the Dades Valley, known as “the valley of a thousand kasbahs,” where we’ll spend the night in a hotel with panoramic views.
Day 10
Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Today we will cross the High Atlas Mountains. First, we’ll visit the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the setting for films such as “Gladiator.” We’ll cross the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass (2,260 m), enjoying the ever-changing scenery before arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon, where we’ll get our first glimpse of the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna Square.
Day 11
Marrakech: The Complete Guide
We’ll spend the day exploring the treasures of Marrakech. We’ll start with the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, then continue on to the most authentic souks. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Menara Gardens and have time for some last-minute shopping before a farewell dinner featuring a folk show.
Day 12
Marrakech – Essaouira
Today we’ll change scenery and head to the Atlantic coast. Essaouira, with its fortified medina and laid-back atmosphere, will welcome us with its unique charm. We’ll stroll through the fishing port, sample fresh seafood, and explore the art galleries that have made this city famous.
Day 13
Essaouira – Casablanca
Disfrutaremos de la mañana libre en Essaouira antes de emprender el regreso a Casablanca. En el camino, haremos una parada en El Jadida para visitar su famosa cisterna portuguesa. Llegaremos a Casablanca al final de la tarde para nuestra última noche en Marruecos.
