Itineraries
Day 1
Marrakech – High Atlas – Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – The Dades Valley
Pickup at the hotel or riad where you are staying in Marrakech, then departure for the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters above sea level, with stops to enjoy spectacular
panoramic views. We will visit the ARGAN cooperative, where we will discover the production process and learn about the countless benefits it
has for the human body.
We will continue the journey to the village of Ait Ben Haddou (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site). In this spectacular setting, such renowned films as Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara have been filmed. We’ll have lunch in the village and continue our journey to Ouarzazate, the great gateway to the desert, the starting point for major expeditions. We’ll visit the Great Kasbah of Taourirt, then continue to the Valley of the Roses, passing through the Great Palm Grove of Skoura, and arriving at the
Dades Valley.
Day 2
Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Dunes of Merzouga (Desert)
Breakfast, then we’ll travel to Merzouga and drive up a road to view
the gorges from a vantage point on the mountain, before continuing
along a road dotted with beautiful kasbahs, each one
completely different from the next. After several stops, we’ll arrive at one of the
highlights of the south: the Todra Gorges (300 m). The Todra River has
carved a gorge with massive vertical walls of
great beauty; it’s a climber’s paradise and a truly unique place. Lunch on
site, then on to the desert until we reach the impressive
Dunes of Merzouga, where we’ll have evening tea while
we rest a bit. We’ll leave our bags at the hostel and set off in
a caravan of dromedaries, which in an hour will take us to the
Haimas camp. We’ll stop along the way to watch the sunset over the
dunes and stretch our legs before continuing on to the camp.
Before dinner, we’ll have the chance to climb the dunes near
the camp and enjoy a cup of tea while soaking in the peace and quiet of the
surroundings. We’ll spend the night in a tent under the stars. (An unforgettable night).
Day 3
Merzouga - Draa Valley - Anti-Atlas Mountains - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
We’ll wake up before dawn to watch the sunrise over
the Great Dune. We’ll return to the lodge by camel. Shower, breakfast, and
we’ll begin our journey, passing through Rissani, one of the oldest
cities in Morocco and capital of the Alaouite dynasty, and traversing the
arid yet fascinating pre-Atlas landscapes to
enjoy this beautiful valley that runs alongside the river of the same
name. It is the longest river in Morocco and crosses the entire country all the way to
Mauritania. We will cross the Anti-Atlas to reach Ouarzazate, with lunch at the
site. In the afternoon, we will cross the High Atlas, arriving in Marrakech by
